Merton’s library services will be holding the first meeting of their Talking Eyes project, a reader’s group aimed at the blind, visually impaired and partially sighted, on Wednesday, 16 May at Donald Hope Library, High Street, Colliers Wood.
Free transport is available to and from the meeting that starts at 10.30 and finishes at around midday for all those who wish to attend and provision will also be made for Seeing Eye dogs. The activities will include demonstrations on a new CCTV monitor system that magnifies print and pictures and a scanner that reads aloud print.
Reading and discussion sessions will take place and there will be an opportunity to discuss how to improve library services for blind and visually impaired people.
