Aragon Primary School has recently had an Ofsted inspection, which recognises the school’s high standards in national tests in both Year 2 and Year 6 and particularly gives praise to the rapid progress pupils makes in their knowledge skills and understanding of the use of computers. This they believe is due to the enthusiasm of staff and pupils as well as the establishment of a second new computer suite in the school.
As part of the new inspections process Aragon is to be the first school in Merton to have a literacy lesson highlighted as an example of outstanding practice. The new school is praised for its partnership with parents and its commitment to inclusion.
Gill Wilson, Headteacher at Aragon, said:
“I am delighted that Ofsted have recognised our high standards together with the commitment of staff, governors and parents. Overall I am very pleased with the report, it will be a useful tool in assisting further developments at Aragon.”
