Bond’s big walk
Primary school children get healthy
A Mitcham primary school has responded to nationwide concerns over
unhealthy lifestyles by taking to the streets.
Bond Primary School in Bond Road, Mitcham are to cap off their hugely
successful health week with ‘Bond’s big walk.’
This will see the whole school – pupils, teachers and parents – walk from
the school to Cannons Park where they will take part in keep fit routine,
led by staff from the nearby Cannons Leisure Centre.
Head teacher Jan Peek explained the reasons for the big walk.
‘The day will be a fun way to get across how precious our health is and
that we need to take care of it by doing something about it.’
The walk will bring to an end a whole week of events at Bond primary
School to get children and their parents to think about their health.
These have included special classes and sessions looking at everything
from exercise and diet to how to keep safe on the roads.

Photographers are welcome to attend the big walk which will set out from
Bond Primary School at 9.45am reaching Cannons Park at 10am. The exercise
