We hope you are all enjoying the start of 2022. If you’re out and about doing some local shopping in Merton, you might see some of our lamp post banners with messages reminding you
Please remember that face coverings are mandatory in most busy indoor settings (except hospitality), and you should wash or sanitise your hands regularly while you’re shopping and when you get home
As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise across the borough it’s important that we all do what we can to protect ourselves and the local community.
England’s current Plan B rules will continue for now, the Government has confirmed. In an update to MPs, the prime minister said the COVID-19 measures will be reviewed again by 26 January.
Here are a few things you can do to keep safe:
- If you feel unwell with COVID-19 symptoms, please isolate immediately and take a PCR test.
- You can help prevent the spread of the virus by making sure you take lateral flow tests regularly, particularly before meeting with others. You can get a test at participating pharmacies with a collect code, Merton libraries or at Centre Court Shopping Centre and the Wilson Hospital. All lateral flow rapid tests are free and you get a result in 15 to 30 minutes.
- Make sure you’ve had two doses of the COVID vaccine as well as the booster jab. Find out where booster jabs are available and book your appointment. Alternatively, there are walk-in appointments available all week at the Wilson Hospital and Nelson Medical Centre.
