We are launching an exciting new project called Empower Her. The project is for girls and young women aged 13-16 living in Merton, and will empower them by building their confidence, self-esteem and decision-making skills for everyday life.
Starting on Wednesday 9 October, the weekly workshops will take place every Wednesday from 5-7pm at Phipps Bridge Youth Centre in Mitcham. Participants are encouraged to come weekly but drop in participation is also welcome.
Through workshops, tools and professional support, young people will gain the resources needed to trust their choices and embrace their potential. Some of the amazing sessions on offer include: leadership challenges, budgeting skills, public speaking skills, body positivity discussions, elevator pitch (business planning), community projects, stress management techniques, online presence (privacy and security), equality projects, gender stereotypes, debate club, creating self-care kits and many more…
Food and drink will be offered every week. To register participation for you or for someone else, please email detached@merton.gov.uk.
