Residents invited to help plant trees at Morden Park

Merton Council is inviting local residents to a community tree-planting session at Morden Park on Saturday 17 January, from 10am to 1pm.

Everyone is welcome to take part, and no experience is needed, Residents are welcome to join for as long as they like.

Volunteers should wear suitable footwear and bring their own gloves. All tools will be provided on the day.

The closest entrance and parking is at Hillcross Depot car park, from Hillcross Avenue, and signage will guide you to the planting site. The exact planting location can also be found using what3words: ///sleep.bells.minds.

Staff planting days will take place on Thursday 15 January and Friday 16 January, before opening up to the residents and local stakeholders for the planting session on Saturday 17 January.

Motspur Park Football Club is donating 40 large oak trees, and Merton Council will plant an additional 550 smaller hedgerow plants. These will create a new tree belt and hedgerow along an existing tree line across the meadow in the park, enhancing the park for wildlife and the local community.
