MAGRAH conference ready to respond to key issues

Partnership group’s Annual Conference set for 25 September

Merton’s Multi Agency Group on Racial Attacks and Harassment (MAGRAH) is holding its Annual Conference later this month.

The event takes place on Tuesday 25 September in the Wimbledon Community Association Hall, 28 St George’s Road, Wimbledon and will discuss how organisations can respond to racial harassment in the light of the Stephen Lawrence – Macpherson Inquiry; including the need to work with young people to find practical solutions.

MAGRAH would particularly like to see issues surrounding young people raised and is encouraging participation by youth organisations and other groups working with young people.

The Conference provides an opportunity for frank discussion and the sharing of good practice, and organisers would like groups to attend, even if they can only make it for part of the event.

Registration will be between 12 noon and 12.30pm and lunch will be provided at 12.30pm. The Conference will be held between1.30pm and 4.30pm.

Any group or individual who would like to attend should contact Monica Wambu, Scrutiny & Policy Division, Chief Executive’s Dept., LB Merton, Merton Civic Centre, London Rd, Morden SM4 5DX outlining any access or dietary needs.
