Questionnaires give Best Value

Merton Council questionnaire respondents win prize money

Three Merton residents celebrated when the Mayor of Merton, Councillor Stuart Pickover, presented them with cheques as winners of the Merton Council Resident Questionnaire free prize draw.

The questionnaire was sent to residents in the Borough earlier this year inside Targets 2001, which is a summary of Merton’s Best Value Performance Plan. The questionnaire was used to gain feedback on the plan so that future improvements could be made.

The free prize draw encouraged 449 residents to respond. The results found that 84 per cent of respondents thought the Targets 2001 document was useful and 90 per cent felt that the targets set out in the document were clear. The residents who responded identified ‘Safe, Green and Healthy’ as the most important priority.

Leader of the Council, Councillor Andrew Judge said; “I am delighted that so many Merton residents are involving themselves in Council issues by providing useful feedback. Furthermore, an encouraging 70 per cent of the residents who responded to the questionnaire expressed a willingness to be involved in further consultation with Merton Council.”
