Merton’s Planning department has speeded up decisions on planning applications by 20 per cent, making them the eighth fastest in London.
The speed of determining applications jumped by 20 per cent 67.5 per cent in the planning performance tables published by the Office of the Deputy Primeminister. The figures are based on the percentage of applications that are determined within eight weeks.
Pete Smith, Planning Manager, said: “This should be seen in the context of an ever increasing number of planning applications received per year. These figures represent a positive step forwards, Merton’s Planning Department is working hard and working well.”
