SEN Transport Policy Review

Special Educational Needs transport consultation to take place

Merton Council is carrying out a review of its Special Educational Needs (SEN) transport policy following concerns from some parents about SEN transport.

The Council has asked the Education and Lifelong Learning Scrutiny Panel to carry out an urgent review of the situation.

Councillor Andrew Judge, Leader of Council, said: “The safety and care of all our children is of paramount importance to us all especially for those children with special educational needs using Council transport.”

The review will take place in November.

Parents will be consulted by questionnaire and through a public meeting on Wednesday 13 November. Recommendations will then be made to the Overview and Scrutiny Commission on 11 December.
