Lending time project proves to be the real deal

On Saturday 23rd August, the children of Mitcham Library held an exhibition to express their view on day-to-day life, as a celebratory conclusion to their activity club.

The children, aged between 5 and 8 years old, had been participating in ‘The Real Deal’ Project at Mitcham Library during the summer, as part of the CSV (Community Service Volunteers) Lending Time Project.

The children got to explore their creativity by drawing, painting, arts & crafts, designing and writing reviews. They have also been developing their I.T. skills through computer work and web surfing.

‘Lending Time’ Volunteer Aisha Jiagoo who set-up and ran ‘The Real Deal’ said:

“We had an enthusiastic, colourful and talented group of children who produced some unique and imaginative pieces at the sessions. Which contributed to an outstanding display.”

Lending Time Project Manager Andrew Chadwick said:

“This has been a fantastic example of how volunteers can really add-value to library services in Merton. Library staff are committed to providing quality children’s services and with the right volunteers they can do even more”
