London Borough of Merton are holding a graffiti conference on Monday 29 September 2003, 2pm -4.30pm, in the Council Chamber, Merton Civic Centre, London Road Merton.

The conference is being held as part of our ‘Don’t be an aerosol’ graffiti awareness campaign. School’s in the borough have been invited to send two students (aged 10-16) to represent their school at the conference.

The conference will involve the launch of our new graffiti video followed by a discussion session debating the reasons why people tag or graffiti in Merton, and what can be done to prevent it. Copies of the video and teaching packs will be given out on the day and you will be supplied with a press pack.

We would like to invite you to attend the ‘Don’t be an aerosol’ graffiti conference so you can see the new video, participate in the discussion and find out from the students what they think about graffiti and how they think the problem could be solved. There will be a chance for interviews and photographs at the end.

Please could you get back to me on 020 8545 3327 and let me know if you are able to attend.
