Be part of the action as Chessington and Wimbledon Volleyball Club,
Merton Sports Development and WS Atkins host the semi finals of the men and
women’s
National Volleyball Association, on Saturday 6 March at Raynes Park High
School Sports Centre.
The EVA National Cup is English club volleyball’s major knock-out
competition, putting the country’s best teams against each other and
guaranteeing exciting top-class volleyball.
The women’s match is between London Malory and City of Wolverhampton and has
a warm-up time of 3pm with a match start time of 3.30pm. The men’s match
follows immediately after the women’s match and features London Malory and
London Docklands.
London Malory and City of Wolverhampton are currently 2nd and 3rd
respectively in the women’s National League and Wolverhampton will be
looking to avenge their narrow defeat in the league earlier this season when
they lost 15-12 in the 5th set.
London Docklands and London Malory are currently 1st and 2nd respectively in
the men’s National League. Malory is the current league champions, while
Docklands are the current cup holders. In their league meeting earlier in
the season Docklands ran out winners 3-2. In many people’s eyes this is
effectively the cup final as these two teams are recognised as the best two
teams in the country.
Refreshments will be
available. Raynes Park High School Sports Centre is close to the A3 and
Raynes Park Station.
