The Leader of the Council, Andrew Judge will be launching the Merton Compact later this month.
The event will be held on 28 October in the Council Chamber of Merton Civic Centre between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.
The Compact is an agreement between Merton Council, the Sutton and Merton Primary Care Trust and the voluntary and community sectors, designed to strengthen relationships ensuring all sectors can work together effectively.
Also attending the launch will be Chair of Sutton and Merton Primary Care Trust, Kay Sonneborn and Chair of Merton Voluntary Service Council, Lola Barrett. Both will be available to answer any questions about the Compact.
Over 50 community organisations and other participants attended an open day in September and over 20 groups submitted a written response as part of the four-month consultation period.
The Leader of Merton Council, Andrew Judge said:
“The Compact will allow us to communicate better with our partners in the voluntary and community sector which will effectively help us support the people of Merton.”
The launch of Merton Compact coincides with National Compact Week between 1 and 7 November, this year themed ‘Working Together – Better Together’.
