A magnificent £1,850 was raised for charity by generous guests at a special Chinese Banquet last Thursday (November 25).
The event, in aid of the Mayor’s nominated charities – St Raphael’s Hospice and Merton Crossroads Caring for Carers – took place at a packed Man’s Restaurant in Raynes Park, where guests enjoyed an exotic feast that included prawn toast, aromatic duck and a selection of other mouth-watering oriental delicacies.
In thanking the hosts, restaurant owners Mr. & Mrs. Man, a delighted Mayor of Merton, Councillor Margaret Brierly, said: “The generosity of those who attended will enable these two worthy local charities to continue their good work.”
“The Charity banquet was not only a financial success, but greatly enjoyed by all in attendance”.
