Mayor of Merton’s Civic Service

Merton residents are invited to attend The Mayor of Merton, Councillor Margaret Brierly’s Civic Service at 6.30pm on Sunday 16 January 2005 at St. John the Baptist Church, Spencer Hill, Wimbledon.

The Service has been arranged by the Mayor’s Chaplain, The Reverend Robin Stevens, Vicar of St. John the Baptist Church and will be attended by Civic Dignitaries and Mayors of other London Boroughs. The Bishop of Kingston and the Auxiliary Bishop for the Diocese of Southwark will also be in attendance.

Readings and prayers will be led by The Deputy Lieutenant for the London Borough of Merton, The Rt. Hon. Sir John Wheeler; The Worshipful the Mayor, Councillor Margaret Brierly, the Chief Executive, Mr. Ged Curran; the Leader of Merton Council, Councillor Andrew Judge; the Leader of the Conservative Group, Councillor David Williams; and representatives from Health and Voluntary Organisations.

There will be musical contributions from Richards Lodge High School; The Choir of Holy Trinity School; The Merton Concert Band and The Merton Music Foundation Brass Ensemble.
