Merton Council is examining the effectiveness of the planning application process and would like to hear residents’ views.
Chair of Merton Council’s Regeneration and Public Realm Scrutiny Panel, Councillor Chris Edge, is leading the review.
Scrutiny reviews look to drive forward improvement across the council by making recommendations based on evidence gathered from residents, other councils’ experiences and national guidance to arrive at best practice. Once evidence has been collected, Scrutiny hopes to identify possible improvements and make appropriate recommendations to cabinet.
The council has devised a questionnaire covering all aspects of the planning application process. Questions range from those about our current practice to those that will gauge interest in possible future initiatives.
