On Saturday 19 May, a community fun day took place at Mitcham Library Hall.
The event was organised by the Interfaith Forum and the Merton Partnership as part of their Life in One Community campaign, which brings together people from different communities and backgrounds.
The emphasis of the free event was on experiencing other faiths and religions. People of all ages enjoyed a faiths exhibition, Indian dancing, Henna hand painting, visits to the library, a magic show and other entertainment.
Councillor David Simpson, Cabinet member for Partnership and Community Safety, said:
“Events such as Saturday’s community fun day showcase the borough’s rich cultural heritage. It is so refreshing to see families taking time to learn about each other and their respective traditions.”
