A recent Local Government survey has marked Merton Council’s website (www.merton.gov.uk) third place above other local authority websites.
The report published in August 2007, scored Merton’s website 9.49 out of a possible ten points, putting Merton in third place.
The survey tests all 460 local authority websites in the UK, by measuring the performance of websites by running a number of tests on links, accessibility to disabled people, time taken to load pages and code quality.
The report published monthly revealed that Merton had risen from position 402 in February 2005 to third place in August 2007 and is the only London borough website in the top five league table position.
Cabinet Member for Corporate Resources, Deputy Council Leader, Councillor Samantha George said: “This is terrific news for Merton Council. Merton has been recognised for its improvement in services.”
