Confirmation that Merton is now officially an Investors in People organisation came last week after an assessment took place in December last year.
The Investors in People Standard looks at organisations as employers, providing a framework that helps organisations to improve performance and achieve objectives through the effective management and development of their employees.
Leader of Merton Council, Councillor David Williams comments:
“This is a fantastic achievement for Merton that all staff can feel proud of. We are now able to demonstrate to the outside world that Merton is an organisation that is committed to developing and nurturing its staff.
As the biggest employer in the borough we have a responsibility to our residents to be constantly improving the way we work, and this is an impressive way forward in proving our commitment. The IIP Standard and the processes we are now going through will not only help our employees develop individually, but will help Merton continue to offer good employment opportunities and in turn the best value service it can to residents.”
