Merton Council welcomes November in spectacular style

Join Merton Council in lighting up this year’s bonfire night with a series of fireworks extravaganzas.

The first spectacular evening takes place on Saturday 1 November in Morden Park with a second chance to enjoy the council’s sparkling firework display on Wednesday 5 November at Wimbledon Park.

Entrance is £7 for adults, £4 for under 18s while under 4s can go free. Visitors can also take advantage of the £20 family pass (two adults and two children under 18 years). But a word of advice – the firework celebrations are always popular so it’s best to turn up early to avoid the queues.

Each night will include two displays so come along and enjoy yourself.

· 5.15pm – gates open
· 6.30pm – first bonfire lit
· 6.45pm – fireworks display
· 8.15pm – second bonfire lit
· 8.30pm – fireworks display

The entrances to the Wimbledon Park fireworks displays are on Revelstoke Road, Home Park Road and Wimbledon Park Road while the entrances to the Morden Park fireworks displays are on London Road (next to Merton College), Lower Morden Lane and Hillcross Avenue.

Merton Council’s cabinet member for the environment Councillor David Simpson said: “The council’s fireworks displays have a fantastic reputation across the whole borough – and visitors even come from outside Merton to see them.

“It is wonderful our annual bonfire nights are so popular. They are part of our commitment to putting our residents first and making sure everyone who turns up has a fun, and safe, night out.”
