Merton Council statement on Icelandic investments

Merton Council does not hold any deposits with the Icelandic banks.

Deputy leader of Merton Council and cabinet member for corporate resources Cllr Samantha George said:

‘Merton Council would like to reassure its residents that it undertakes its investments with great prudence and care. The council is keeping a close eye on the current economic climate, but it is not impacted by the problems with the Icelandic banks in the last few days.’
