Results are the key for Merton primary schools

Provisional results for 2009 Key Stage 2 results reveal that Merton schools are at or above the provisional national average for all measures.

Results have remained stable in both English and Maths in Merton with 73% of pupils in year 6 achieving a Level 4 or higher in both subjects – 1% above the national average.

Merton’s provisional Average Point Score of 27.9 in 2009 remains stable and in line with the national average point score.

Merton Council’s cabinet member for children’s services, Councillor Debbie Shears says:

‘These are excellent provisional results for Merton so far and a tribute to the hard work of pupils, teachers, governors and parents. And as these results are provisional, it is quite likely that we’ll see further improvements when final results are published.

“Across the board educational standards in Merton continue to rise and we’re determined to do everything we can to further drive up standards in all of our schools.”
