Merton Adult Education (MAE) is celebrating Adult Learners’ Week (12-18 May), by offering residents free taster sessions for a variety of activities at MAE venues and libraries across the borough. The short courses range from IT and computing, to fitness and wellbeing, maths skills, and languages.
To enrol on a course, ring: 020 8274 5222 or visit: http://www.maec.ac.uk for more information.
Merton Council cabinet member for education, Councillor Maxi Martin, said:
“These tasters offer all Merton residents the chance to develop their skills at close to where they live. It is a great opportunity to try something new for free.
“If you want to learn how to speak German, French or British Sign Language, learn to play tennis, do tai chi, dance zumba, or how to retouch photos with photo editing software, there’s a free taster course for you at MAE.”
Notes to editors:
Adult Learners’ Week will be followed by an Open Day in July. To find out more about MAE and to find the location nearest you, please visit: http://www.maec.ac.uk
