Merton’s adventure playground has been shortlisted for the London Play Adventure Playground of the Year awards.
The playground was chosen in the category of ‘best variety’, highlighting the different types of play available for young people aged 8 – 16 in the adventure playground.
The decision on the overall winner will be put to a panel of judges including London Play trustees, awards sponsors Capital Radio 95.8FM, play experts and last year’s winners, the children and young people of Toffee Park Adventure Playground on Tuesday 30 October.
Winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Pheonix Cinema, East Finchley due to be held later this month.
Cabinet member for children’s services, Councillor Maxi Martin said: ‘I am excited that the adventure playground has made the shortlist to win this award. Since opening in 2010, many local children have benefited from the playground, and it’s great for this to be recognised.’
