Youngsters will have something to splash about this week as Merton Council opens its paddling pools in time for summer holidays.

The seven pools being opened on 20 July will see youngsters and families flock to the poolside for the opportunity to wade in and cool down.

The paddling pools open from 20 July until 1 September from 10am to 5pm offering families a free and fun day out this summer. Wimbledon Park paddling pool, which has an interactive water play area, has been open since 25 May and will also remain open until September.

Each year, Merton Council invests more than £50,000 in paddling pools to cover the cost of water, electricity, water treatment, staffing and maintenance.
