Council seeks residents’ views on future of Colliers Wood town centre

We’re going to be asking residents in the Colliers Wood area about what they want for their town centre. This Friday (19 July) in Colliers Wood tube station between 3pm and 7pm, and on Saturday 20 July at Colliers Wood Sainsbury’s between 11am and 3pm, residents will be able to talk to specialist town centre designers and complete a questionnaire on what they think is good about Colliers Wood, what could be improved and what changes they would like to see over the coming year.

Connecting Colliers Wood

These drop-in sessions follow the council’s successful bid for funding from the Mayor of London to revitalise Colliers Wood town centre and are part of the Connecting Colliers Wood project. This is a great opportunity for residents and businesses to have direct influence on the future of their town centre. Connecting Colliers Wood will see significant improvements to the areas outside Colliers Wood tube station, easier access from Colliers Wood to the Wandle Valley Park and Merton Priory as well as improvements to the road and pavement between Colliers Wood High Street and Merton High Street for all road users. A formal consultation on detailed proposals is scheduled for Winter 2013.

Connecting Colliers Wood is a partnership project between Merton Council, Transport for London and the Mayor of London.Find out more: http://www.merton.gov.uk/connectingcollierswood
