Residents visit Morden Library to know their numbers

Almost 100 people had their blood pressure checked today and many had their BMI assessed in Morden Library today as part of Know Your Numbers Week.

The national campaign run by the Blood Pressure Association raises awareness of high blood pressure which is responsible for 60% of strokes and 40% of heart attacks. The event put together by Merton’s Public Health team was attended by Merton’s cabinet member for health and adult social care, Councillor Linda Kirby.

LiveWell, the free NHS health improvement service for people who live or work in Merton were on hand to advise people on living healthier lifestyles with 25 people signing up to receive help.
