Merton Memories is looking for your help again

Thanks to everyone who gave feedback about the last picture we published as part of the Merton Memories project.

The project, which is supported by a grant of £50,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund, is proving popular with residents so here’s another photo we’re researching.

It shows Anthony Eden MP (later British Prime Minister) and local MP Robert Carr, visiting a Merton factory during the 1950s. Can you identify the factory or do you have any other information about the photo? If so, please email Sarah.Gould@merton.gov.uk, or post it to Sarah Gould, Morden Library, London Road, Morden, SM4 5DX. You can also send your answers to us on Twitter using #mertonmemories.

We’ve had many suggestions about the possible location of the first photo we published including Vestry Hall, Wimbledon Library, Alphea Middle School and All Saints School. The team is going to compare the current buildings to confirm these suggestions.
