London Play, the charity which promotes children’s right to play, chose the play area for the inventive way the playground has been set up to provide many different fun activities.

As part of the judging process, the Acacia Centre submitted a short video showcasing the features of its adventure playground including climbing apparatus, trampoline and sand pits.

The awards ceremony was held at the Park Theatre, Finsbury Park and was sponsored by 95.8 Capital FM’s Help a Capital Child.

Cabinet member for children’s services, Councillor Maxi Martin said: “The adventure playground is one of the most popular play areas for children in Merton. During the summer it was very busy. I would like to thank all the staff at the Acacia centre who work hard to manage the playground and provide our children with an excellent area where children can play safely.”
