Colliers Wood is gearing up for its spring arts festival which includes headline acts Gypsy Fever, who performed last year at Bestival and Secret Garden Party 2013, comedian and Funny Women Awards 2013 finalist Rachel Gleaves and Ryan Campbell-Birch, one of the UK’s leading tap dancers, as seen on Sky 1’s Got To Dance.
Tickets for the 2014 Colliers Wood Spring Festival are available now and can be booked online at www.collywood.org.uk/arts . The festival will run from 1 March until 18 May and fans of music and arts can visit www.collywood.org.uk/arts/ to see the programme of events planned. There is also a newsletter to sign up to for the latest on the festival.
Supported by Merton Council, the festival will be a celebration of music and the arts. There will be regular Sunday music sessions, music and poetry workshops, an arts and crafts fair and a host of activities to delight children and families. In addition to the diverse programme of events, festival goers will be able to take part in a Merton-wide photography competition. Details are on the festival website.
Merton Council cabinet member for community and culture Councillor Nick Draper said: “The Colliers Wood Arts Festival is unique in Merton: it brings together the best of arts and music, for young and old, it goes on for three months, and it’s either free or priced to suit most pockets. Keep a lookout for news of the many events and performances, and make your 2014 truly memorable.”
