Merton Council has been ranked as having one of the top four websites out of all 33 London boroughs for the third year running.
The Society of Information Technology Management (SOCITM) Better Connected report reviews all UK council websites, based on testing by industry experts.
Merton’s website was commended for being easy to use on mobile phones, with its mobile-friendly web pages described as ‘way ahead of many others’. Its search engine, A to Z of services and fly-tipping report form were also singled out as examples of best practice for other councils to learn from.
Deputy Leader of Merton Council, Councillor Mark Allison said “It’s always nice to get recognition, and the mark of a good Council is always seeking to improve. Public satisfaction in our website has gone up in the past year and we have made our website more mobile and tablet friendly so that residents can access our services while they’re on the go.”
