The deadline for nominations for this year’s awards is Tuesday 23 September 2014.

Nominations are all online this year and can be made in three easy clicks.

The council’s awards are an opportunity to formally recognise employees at the council.  Residents can also nominate someone for their contribution to the community award. This could be a public sector organisation, including the police, fire brigade and NHS. The community award could also be for a volunteer who supports the council in their spare time or someone in the community that goes the extra mile to make Merton a better place.

Leader of Merton Council, Councillor Stephen Alambritis said: “We are lucky in Merton to have many people who always make that extra effort to provide a great service for residents in the borough. This is a great opportunity to recognise those who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty, and show a clear commitment to providing first-class services in their area of work. We want to get people thinking about who their unsung hero is. Now is the time to get nominating and make sure your community champion is hailed a local hero.”

To nominate, visit www.merton.gov.uk/communitychampion to complete the online form.
