The staff at Brightwell were praised for making every effort to create homely and comfortable rooms which reflect the interests of each child.

Children are also given fresh home cooked food and have indoor and outdoor play areas, a large garden and two sensory rooms to keep children busy and entertained.

The home, based in Morden, provides care for children with learning and physical disabilities. It is a place where children and young people go for after school short breaks, day-time short breaks during holidays and for over-night stays.

Cabinet member for children’s services, Councillor Maxi Martin, said: “Our Brightwell Centre work with so many children with different needs providing support to parents. It is little surprise the quality of care has been rated outstanding as we have outstanding members of staff who go above and beyond to create a happy environment for children.”
