Merton Council’s All Saints Centre has just had a makeover thanks to 25 volunteers from warranty specialists Domestic and General in Wimbledon.
Not for profit organisation Employee Volunteering Community Interest Company specially selected All Saints. Employees from Domestic and General redecorated various rooms at the centre as part of their corporate, social responsibility activity.
Merton Council’s cabinet member for adult social care and health, Councillor Caroline Cooper-Marbiah said: “This project is a great way to help local employees get involved in local community. I commend both Employment Volunteering and Domestic and General for doing such a great job. It is always great to find new ways to improve quality of an already excellent centre and I know the people who attend the centre will greatly appreciate their work.”
Spokesperson for Domestic and General said: “It is not only a great team bonding experience for our staff, but also a fantastic way to get involved in the local community and help those in need. Our staff had great day and they feel like they achieved something important through their hard work.”
Zoey O’Brien, manager at All Saints Centre, said: “Employment Volunteering got in touch and asked if there’s any work they could help with. It was great that Domestic and General volunteered so quickly. We are grateful to both Employment Volunteering and Domestic and General for their help. The work was done in a professional manner, and we heard guys had a lot of fun. We hope it could be an on-going thing, as there’s always some work to be done.”
