Tickets went on sale today for two of London’s most popular fireworks and bonfire displays, organised by Merton Council. The displays will take place at Morden Park on Saturday 1 November and at Wimbledon Park on Wednesday 5 November.
This year for the first time, the council is selling tickets online ahead of the event. By purchasing online, families (two adults and two juniors) can save as much as 30% on the price of their tickets and will also be given access to a fast track queue on the night. Tickets can be purchased on the fireworks booking webpage. Booking for the Morden Park event closes on Thursday 30 October at 11.30pm and booking for Wimbledon Park closes on Monday 3 November at 11.30pm.
The events will give firework fans a night to remember with two fantastic performances at each venue. This year’s fireworks themes are Ice and Magic, more suitable for younger children, and Salute to Services for an older audience.
Gates will open at 5.15pm and people are encouraged to arrive early for the show they are seeing to avoid queues. Fairground rides, stalls and refreshments will be open until 10.00pm.
A limited number of tickets will be available on the night, but people are encouraged to book online in advance. Tickets online are priced at £8 for adults and £6 for ages five to 16. Entry is free for ages four and under. A family ticket for two adults and two children, aged five to 16, costs £25. Tickets purchased on the night will cost £10 for adults and £8 for ages five to 16. Concessionary family tickets will not be available on the gate.
Merton Council’s cabinet member for community and culture, Councillor Nick Draper, said: “Merton’s fireworks and bonfire nights are magical. I love to feel the ground shake, the music swell, the sky burst into a million sparks. Come and share the experience – and make sure to book your tickets online to save money. I look forward to seeing you all there!”
