Merton has just declared its Members of Parliament to be Siobhain McDonagh for the Mitcham and Morden constituency and Stephen Hammond for the Wimbledon constituency.
The announcement came in the early hours of Friday 8 May 2015, just before 3am. Labour’s MP held her seat with 27,380 votes, 61% of the total vote. In Wimbledon, Conservative candidate Stephen Hammond MP also held his seat with 25,225 votes, 52% of the total vote.
Voting numbers were relatively unchanged with a confirmed 66% turnout for Mitcham and Morden, compared with 67% in 2010. For Wimbledon, turnout was 74% compared with 72% in 2010.
