Mitcham festival for the family

Merton Council is putting on a free, fun-filled, family festival at Mitcham Fair Green on Saturday 19 March, 11am to 5pm.

The first ever Find Yourself in Mitcham Festival will include a range of activities for all ages. There will also be Tai chi sessions for adults, jewellery making, a soft play area and a bouncy castle for children and toddlers.

As part of Merton’s SportsBlast initiative, there will be a selection of taster sessions including football, netball and tennis for young people to try out. The Mitcham Orchard will also have a planting workshop for the family to take part in.

The festival is part of the Mayor of London’s- Find Your London campaign aimed at getting local residents to explore their local areas.

Merton’s cabinet member for community and culture, Councillor Nick Draper, said: “We have a fun and exciting day planned for our Find Yourself in Mitcham Festival and it’s free. With all the attractions in the heart of our newly designed Mitcham Fair Green there is something for all members of the family to do, so don’t miss out!”
