Minute’s silence to remember those affected by the Grenfell Tower Fire

In the wake of the Grenfell Tower Fire the council held a minute’s silence outside the Civic Centre at 11am today.

As a mark of respect the flag outside the Civic Centre was lowered during the ceremony.

The Leader of the Council, Cllr Stephen Alambritis said: “It is important that we pause and mark our respect for all those who have been affected by the Grenfell Tower fire which has touched all of our hearts.

“We are also shocked to have heard about a possible terror attack in Finsbury Park this morning.

“Our condolences are with all those who have been affected by both of these tragic events.”

A book of condolence has been opened up in the Civic Centre in honour of those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.
