Maria Jessiman who manages Lu Ma café in Wimbledon, with her daughter Lucy, talks to us about the lifting of lockdown and the gradual return to normal service.
“It is so good to be back again. Obviously until May 17th we can only serve people who are sitting outside but we are lucky to have lots of outdoor seating area available and we can’t wait for customers to be able to enjoy our indoor seating – in line with COVID -19 restrictions of course.
“For all businesses it has been a long up and down year. We closed in March 2020 for the initial lockdown and reopened in June for takeaway but then we closed again in December reopening in March. We were able to do takeaways for some of this time but it’s not the same as being able to see customers in person having fun and enjoying your food.
“It is amazing to see everyone again and it feels so good especially as we have undergone extensive refurbishment inside and out which looks great. We are looking forward to a wonderful summer.”
