Getting the booster vaccine remains the best way to protect yourself, your loved ones and your community as we head into winter when we know COVID-19 can present a bigger risk to our health.
The National Booking System now allows you to pre-book your COVID-19 booster appointment a month before you are eligible.
Everyone aged over 50, and all those most at risk from COVID-19, should get a booster six months after their second dose. Previously, you could only book an appointment at six months, this has been brought forward by a month. Please take advantage of this change and book your booster as soon as you can.
You can now use the NHS service to book an appointment for a booster dose if it’s been 152 days (5 months) since your second dose and you’re in one of these groups:
- aged 50 and over
- aged 16 and over with a health condition t
- hat puts you at high risk from COVID-19.
You can also use this service if you’re a frontline health and social care worker.
Eligible residents can also head in to one of the walk-in clinics across the borough if it has been six months since your second dose and you are in an eligible group.
There are two essential vaccines that you may need this winter, read the Winter Flu vaccination Guide to find out who should have the vaccine and why. It includes information for children and pregnant women.
