Two Wimbledon car parks closed for resurfacing during February

Two of Wimbledon’s car parks will have resurfacing work carried out in February to improve them for visitors and their vehicles. They will each need to completely close to cars for a short period of time for the work to be carried out.

Hartfield Road will be closed from 6 to 12 February. During the closure period, visitors are advised to use The Broadway, Queen’s Road or St George’s car parks – but to bear in mind that these car parks will be busier than usual.

The Broadway will be closed from 20 to 24 of February. During the closure period, visitors are advised to use Hartfield Road, Queen’s Road or St George’s car parks – but to again bear in mind that these car parks may be busier than usual.

Notices about the closures will be displayed in both car parks, and Merton’s team are in the process of contacting local businesses and Wimbledon Theatre to manage the impact.

Cllr Stephen Alambritis, Cabinet Member for Transport, said, “I know that the car park closures will cause some disruption for residents in February, but this resurfacing work needs to be done.

“When complete the car parks will be in much better condition, and with their recently awarded Park Mark accreditation residents and visitors will benefit from safe car parks in great condition.”
