This weekend, embrace the spirit of Christmas as Mitcham’s Winter Weekend arrives from Thursday, 7 December to Sunday, 10 December.
Mitcham Fair Green will be transformed into a delightful ice rink and Santa Land, plus the Market Square will host a variety of traditional Christmas merriment through food, entertainment, a makers market, and more!
We must highlight that all tickets for the ice rink must be booked online in advance.
Event highlights:
- Ice rink debut: Mitcham will host its first-ever ice rink, promising hours of laughter and fun for all ages.
- Live music and performances: Enjoy melodious tunes and captivating performances by local schools, adding an extra touch of magic to the weekend.
- Saturday market extravaganza: Towards Employment will be showcasing a diverse range of products from local artisans and community groups, offering a glimpse into Mitcham’s unique Christmas celebrations.
Inspired by insights from the ‘Mitcham Matters’ consultation, the Mitcham Winter Weekend aims to bring together residents and visitors alike for an unforgettable experience.
Organised by the collaborative efforts of local stakeholders and community groups, this event seeks to understand the demand for family night-time activities while fostering positive relationships within the town centre.
The event is partly funded by GLA investment that was awarded to the Business, Economy and Licensing team for ‘Business Friendly Licensing’ as well as the allocated funds for events in Mitcham Town Centre.

Towards Employment is a Merton Council employability project that is totally free for employers looking for candidates and also for South London residents looking to access work. The aim is to improve the wellbeing of local residents across South London aged 16-40 and provide them with opportunities to gain sustained economic and social status through legitimate means.
