There are now eight Green Flag accredited sites in the London Borough of Merton, including the newest addition, Canons House & Grounds in Mitcham.

Mitcham’s Canons House & Grounds has been honoured with the prestigious Green Flag Award, affirming its status as one of the country’s most exceptional parks.
This brings the total number of Green Flag sites in Merton to eight, with the following parks successfully retaining or gaining their Green Flag status.

- Colliers Wood Recreation Ground
- Canons House & Grounds
- Abbey Recreation Ground
- Dundonald Recreation Ground
- John Innes Park
- Sir Joseph Hood Memorial Playing Field
- South Park Gardens
The Green Flag Award is the international quality mark for parks and green spaces, testament to the hard work and dedication of the Greenspace, and Housing and Sustainable Development teams, Idverde and the Friends of and Canons House & Grounds team – all who maintain these green spaces, ensuring that residents can continue to enjoy them.

The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
