Congratulations to the winners of the Merton Best Business Awards 2024

Merton Council was proud to be a headline sponsor at Merton Best Business Awards last week, where businesses across the borough gathered to celebrate their successes at a Bollywood-themed award ceremony at AFC Wimbledon.

The event, organised by Merton Chamber of Commerce, recognised and celebrated local businesses in a range of categories, including council-sponsored awards for Sport and Fitness Business of the Year and Equality Diversity & Inclusion.

Congratulations to Surrey Physio Group for winning the Sport and Fitness Business of the Year Award, and to Polka Theatre for receiving the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Award. Well done to all the finalists and runner-ups in the award categories.

Councillor Eleanor Stringer, Cabinet Member for Civic Pride, said:

“As a council, we take pride in creating a supportive environment that empowers local businesses to thrive. It was a privilege to see Merton’s exceptional businesses, from small to large, recognised and celebrated for the incredible work that they contribute to our borough’s vibrant community.

“Our local businesses play a vital role here in Merton, contributing to job creation and supporting the local economy. They are also integral to helping us work towards our ambitions in nurturing Civic Pride, building a Sustainable Future and becoming London’s Borough of Sport – as demonstrated by the Sport and Fitness Business of the Year award that we sponsored.

“Congratulations to all the winners and finalists on their outstanding achievements. Thank you to Merton Chamber of Commerce for organising another successful event.”

Charlotta Harbour, CEO of Merton Chamber of Commerce, added:

“Local businesses are setting a fantastic example of what it means to be responsible, innovative, and forward-thinking. We were so inspired by this business’s dedication to sustainability and their positive impact, both locally and globally.

“Their commitment to championing diversity, equity, and inclusion within their team and community is truly impressive. A big congratulations to them and to all the winners, runners-up, and finalists! And of course, a huge thank you to our sponsors and partners for their amazing support.”
