Lendology CIC partner to support energy efficiency with a £500 donation to Thinking Works

Lendology CIC, in collaboration with Merton Council, has taken another significant step in supporting energy efficiency initiatives across the Borough. Lendology CIC has donated £500 to Thinking Works, a local organisation dedicated to helping vulnerable households in Merton improve their energy efficiency and reduce fuel poverty.

Councillor Ross Garrod, Leader of Merton Council, alongside Emma Lower, CEO of Lendology CIC, presented the donation to Giles Read, Managing Director of Thinking Works, at the Civic Centre. This partnership is part of Merton Council’s broader efforts to work with community organisations to reduce carbon emissions and enhance sustainability across the Borough.

Earlier this year, Merton Council and Lendology CIC launched the Home Energy Efficiency Loan Scheme, designed to support homeowners and landlords with upgrades such as insulation, solar panels, and air source heat pumps. This donation to Thinking Works reinforces the ongoing partnership between Merton Council and Lendology, ensuring that local residents receive the support needed to improve their homes’ energy efficiency.

On presenting the cheque Emma Lower said

“Real change happens when we come together with local partners who share our vision. Our partnership with Merton Council and Thinking Works is a fantastic example of how we can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. By donating to Thinking Works, we’re not just helping households save energy—we’re supporting a community-wide effort to tackle climate change and safe, sustainable homes for everyone in Merton. We’re proud to be part of that journey.”

Giles Read from Thinking works responded:

“Lendology’s financial support shows their commitment to supporting local organisations and helping local Merton residents. Working in partnership, this funding will help us support households to make improvements that will improve thermal comfort whilst lowering carbon emissions.”
