On the Death of Queen Elizabeth ll on 8th September 2022-
Even the sky cried tears
When the Great Queen died.
For our Monarch carried the joy and fears
Of many peoples far and wide.
She understood how people wept
And comforted them by being there
Working even as they quietly slept;
Giving courage where there was despair.
So humble she, Elizabeth the Great,
She worked more hours than any slave
To carry out the duties of affairs of state.
She promised, so her whole long life she gave.
So well respected for her wisdom, knowledge – a true queen.
Rejoiced and laughed with all when all was well
Loved too throughout the world for all that she has been.
Sad now to hear the sad toll of a church bell …
God give her rest at last, and comfort to her soul. She will be missed.
