Following a by election for one of the three seats in the West Barnes ward, Conservative Party candidate, Gillian Lewis-Lavender has been elected on to Merton Council.

The election was held on 9 November and followed the departure of Liberal Democrat Councillor Jenny Willot who resigned to stand for Parliament in Wales.

Ms Lewis-Lavender collected 49.55 per cent of the vote from a turnout of just under 28 per cent.
