The Mayor of Merton’s XI (made up of a team from Merton Police) are playing a match against Mitcham Cricket Club on Sunday, 24 June at 2.00 p.m. at The Cricket Green, Mitcham.

The match will raise much needed funds for Mitcham Cricket Club with a raffle, sponsored by the Mayor of Merton, Councillor Stuart Pickover.

Mitcham Cricket Club is the oldest in the country and has been in danger of closing recently. It needs the support of local people to keep afloat and the match on Sunday is a way of raising awareness of the club and involving the whole of the community.
