PHOTO OPPORTUNITY – Operation ‘Blitz the Borough’

Come and see Operation ‘Blitz the Borough’ in action at Phipps Bridge recreation area (off Belgrave Road) on Friday 27 September at 12pm, as TV’s PC Stamp from The Bill joins volunteers to fight back against graffiti.

The aim of Operation ‘Blitz the Borough’ is to encourage the community to pull together at two clean up days on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 September 2002, between 10am and 4pm. The clean up days mark the end of the Borough’s landmark FLAG project with a fun-filled event and a sense of community involvement. FLAG is a partnership between Merton Council and the Metropolitan Police, which aims to improve the quality of life for everyone who lives or works in Merton by tackling the public nuisances of Fly-tipping, Littering, Abandoned Vehicles and Graffiti.
